![]() ![]() Looks like this table is similar to my old AR EB101. The ariston instructions state the motor spindle height can be adjusted, but after much messing around even when I think it's fully adjusted there is a distinct angle between the bottom of the drive platter and the motor spindle, so the belt isn't sitting properly on the spindle and just pops off.ĭo any of you guys know about setting up turntables like this? Would appreciate help from anyone who has experience with this kit. The belt arrived and I tried to fit it around the motor spindle and drive platter, in no way will the belt stay on for more than a few seconds. I couldn't get the belt to stay on so I thought well just get another belt, they're about £15. The turntable arrived and I assembled it, the seller said I'd have to boil the belt to tighten it so it would fit. So I ended up buying an Ariston RD80 thinking it would be better made, allow for more adjustment and basically sound better. It all started with my dismay at the build quality of some of the newer turntables from the likes of Pro-Ject and Rega, it's literally just a piece of MDF with a tonearm attached and some rubber feet (the rega rp1 doesn't even have the luxury of four feet, they expect you to get along with three!). Hi, I'm looking for some advice on a used turntable I've bought. ![]()
